Verse 1
തെഴുമേനി നിന്നവയവങ്ങളൂഴിന്നു മുന്‍
മൊഴിയുന്നതെന്നിനി മുനികള്‍ക്കുമെന്നംബികേ!
കഴിവില്ലയൊന്നുമതുകൊണ്ടെനിക്കിന്നു നിന്‍–
മൊഴി വന്നു മൗനനിലയായ് മുഴങ്ങുന്നിതാ!

Transliteration
Teḻumēni ninnavayavaṅṅaḷūḻinnu mun‍
moḻiyunnatennini munikaḷ‍kkumennaṃbikē!
Kaḻivillayonnumatukoṇṭenikkinnu nin‍–
moḻi vannu maunanilayāy muḻaṅṅunnitā!

Meaning
O Mother,
O the tender-leaf-like
Ever-new-bodied one,
Even the great silent could
Speak of your limbs only
Until the old-leaf-like body falls.
In my case, therefore, Lo!
Your word having reached me
Resounds within and re-echoes
In its neutral fullness of Silence!
